From the Year 6 Classroom

Dear Families,

What a wonderful start to the term it has been! The students have settled in beautifully, creating a calm and productive learning environment. They are eager to learn.

In English, we have begun our novel study of, The Ghost in My Suitcase. The students are thoroughly enjoying this captivating story and engaging in thoughtful discussions about the characters and themes and the importance of discovering your family history.

In Maths, we’ve been diving into the world of graphs, data collection, and interpretation. The students have enjoyed exploring different types of graphs and analysing data, building their skills in identifying patterns and drawing conclusions.

In other news;

A special highlight this term has been our swimming lessons, which are nearly coming to an end. These sessions have been a fantastic experience, giving students the opportunity to develop their confidence and skills in the water. It has also been a wonderful learning opportunity for everyone involved, including the teachers.

This week, we also focused on online safety, an essential skill in today’s digital world. Students learned how to navigate different aspects of online interactions safely and respectfully. This knowledge will empower them to make responsible choices in the online space.

Our Year 6 students have done an amazing job stepping into their leadership role as big buddies. The Preps have loved the time spent playing, and learning with their buddies, creating special connections. Well done, Year 6, for being such positive role models!

We’re looking forward to another great week ahead!

Warm regards,

Year 6 Team
