Religious Education

Give us the courage to stand up for what is right, the compassion to care for those in need.

Gospel Reading:

Luke: 6: 27-38

Jesus teaches his disciples to be merciful as God is merciful.

Jesus calls us to treat others in the way we want to be treated.

When someone says or does something unkind, what is a positive way to respond?

Bless our work as a Social Justice Team, that we may make a difference in our school and beyond.

Dear Parents,

This is to inform you that the students in Grade 5-6 R will participate in Holy Mass on Monday, 24th  February, at 9:00 a.m.  This school expectation is a part of our curriculum and brings us together as a Parish and School Community.

The students are expected to be in school by 8:40 am., where the staff will take the roll and then head off to the Church by 8:50 am. If your child arrives after the scheduled time, they would need to go 5-6 Z.

If any parents/carers would like to attend Mass you are most welcome, just come directly to St Peter’s Church at the scheduled time.

Thanks for your support and cooperation.

Kind regards,

Mrs Russell  and Mrs DeVisser

Sacramental Information

Dear parents/ carers,

This term some of the  students in Year Three are to begin their preparation to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Reconciliation is a healing Sacrament. In this Sacrament we celebrate God's gift of 'free will' to us.  We can choose to do the right or wrong thing but if we choose to make wrong choices, we need to seek forgiveness by saying we are sorry.

The first part of this preparation begins with the Parent Information Sessions on:

  • Wednesday, 26th February from 6:30- 7:30 p.m (Venue: Parish Community Centre) and the second session is on:
  • Wednesday, 12th  March from 6:30- 7:30 p.m (Venue: Parish Community Centre)

It is a compulsory requirement for  parents and students who are wish to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation to attend both information sessions

The Presentation Mass is on Sunday, 2nd March, 9:00 a.m at St Peter’s Church,Clayton.

Parish mass hospitality

The Year 3-4 A/K students will be involved in a variety of jobs prior to Mass and after Mass so it is important that they are present by 8:50 am.  Families are invited to bring a plate of morning tea to share with parishioners.

Please bring the shared morning tea on a disposable plate or in a clearly named container to the parish hall before 9.00am. We ask no food containing nuts be brought.

Thank  you to Mrs Kim Ellis and Mrs Lini Joseph for volunteering to coordinate Morning Tea for us.

Please contact them to discuss what you will be providing for morning tea.  We are looking forward to seeing all students and their families together.

Mrs Kim Ellis: Phone: 0431 419 564

Mrs Lini Joseph: Phone: 0432 100 761

We are looking forward to seeing all students and their families together.

(This is where the Reconciliation Candidates will be presented to the Parish Community as they begin their faith journey).

Finally, the date for the:

Sacrament of Reconciliation is on the 28th of March , at 11:45 a.m.

Staff will accompany the students to and from the Church so parents do not need to be present on the day.

Blessings!
