Message from the Principal

St Peter’s School - an empowered faith community to enrich the world.

Welcome to Week 4 of Term 1!

How fast is this term going!  Here we are nearly half way through the term! Students are continuing to embrace the structure and routines that all teachers are using as we  implement some of our learning from the work with Berry Street that really complements our professional learning in the area of Positive Behaviour for Learning.

Our Year 6 students were presented with their leadership badges at our assembly last week, alongside the Student Representative Council (SRC). These leadership opportunities are an important part of our school where students of all ages can put forward ideas to make our school an even better place!

NAPLAN

Our Year 3 and 5 students and teachers are busy preparing for NAPLAN that takes place in March. This data provides a school snapshot of the impact of our teaching practices over time. The results are received later in the year and provide one source of data for the school to reflect on our performance. Read  the 'Learning and Teaching' page for information on how parents can support their child.

P&F news and Class reps

I encourage you to read this page of our newsletter as it details the events that the P&F are organising as well as ways you can become involved. We can never have too many parents and carers being part of this group! The P&F hold online meetings each month - the next one is on Wednesday 26 March at 7:15pm. Put it in your diary. We would love to see you there! The link is shared through the P&F Whatsapp goup- so make sure you sign up!

Congratulations

While most of us were still sleeping on Thursday morning, 6 students and Ms Tash were at the Oakleigh Swimming pool representing St Peter's in the District swimming trials. Well done to Steven, Eugene, Russell, Julian, Emily and Ethan for your efforts. We are very proud of you!

Prayer

As we pray, keep Pope Francis in your prayers as he is treated in hospital.

Father,  we praise You for this, and every day, that we get to wake up and enjoy Your beautiful world. Each day is laced with purpose, and we ask for Your wisdom and guidance through every one. Help us to live each day well, and for Your glory, from start to finish.

In this Jubilee Year, themes of reconciliation and renewal, pilgrimage and hope, are prominent.
