Kingston Youth Art Expo
The Visual Art teachers are delighted to have 10 students register to participate in the annual Kingston Youth Art Expo this year.
This free exhibition is a unique opportunity to share your artistic voice and explore what "Belonging" means to you through any creative medium – painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art, photography or mixed media.
We are also working with Kingston Youth staff to have a selection of our Year 7 Julian Opie inspired self portraits, our Year 9 Hermannsburg inspired ceramic pots and our Year 11 Grayson Perry inspired ceramic pots on display alongside the Youth expo.
Work will be on display Monday 30th June to Friday 4 July at Bayley Arts - 1 Avoca Street Highett.
In the Ceramics Studio
Year 9 Ceramics students have been really enjoying having a go on the pottery wheels over the last few weeks of Semester 1. Students have been having mixed success, whilst building on their persistence and having fun making lots of mess!
VCE Media
For Outcome 2: Media Forms in Production, Year 11 Media students were tasked with producing a film trailer for a narrative of their own creation. Students explored the representation of teenagers within their trailers and the results showcase their dedication and hard work in learning adobe creative cloud.
9 Photography
Students have achieved great success with their Analogue Photography CAT - focusing on weird & wonderful portraits! Students were tasked with planning their photoshoots, before using 35mm cameras to take their images. Furthermore, they learnt all about darkroom processes by developing their negatives and creating prints in the darkroom. The results are fabulous - some even extended themselves by colourising their scanned negatives in Photoshop.
Year 7 Art - Painting CAT
Students are tasked with creating their own self portraits inspired by Julian Opie. Throughout their CAT, students have explored colour theory and mixing to create skin tones.
Digital Art
Junior students are beginning to explore the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, experimenting with Fresco and Photoshop to create artworks.
