Bakers Toolkit Semester 1 Celebrations

There’s laughter in the kitchen, flour-dusted aprons all around and a sense of accomplishment that only comes after weeks of hands-on learning. Today’s challenge: crafting rich, gooey chocolate lava cakes and pairing them with a silky, ice-cold milkshake. What a delicious way to celebrate the end of our baking journey this semester.

Year 10 Baker’s Toolkit: Flip Cake Fun!

To wrap up the semester, Year 10 Baker’s Toolkit students had a fantastic time making and decorating their very own "flip cakes." This fun and creative task involved baking a vibrant rainbow swirl cake and using Tigga Mac’s popular cake flip hack — made famous by our very own past student turned Instagram sensation and cake decorator. The session was a lively and fast-paced double period filled with colour, laughter and hands-on learning. Students embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and every student experienced success in crafting their own unique and eye-catching "chicken cakes." A sweet and memorable end to the semester!

Year 9 Elective Classes Impress with Fusion Food Burger CAT

Over the past week, several Year 9 elective classes have successfully completed their Fusion Food Burger CAT. Students showcased their creativity and culinary flair by designing and preparing unique fusion-style burgers. Throughout the task, they demonstrated strong practical skills, effective time management and a solid understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene. The activity also allowed them to apply their design thinking, creating innovative flavour combinations and thoughtful presentations. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and took great pride in their creations — a delicious and educational highlight of the term!
