Mother’s Day Celebration

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Friday for our Mother’s Day Pamper Celebration. It was fantastic to see so many families come along and be treated by their children—it was truly a special afternoon. A big thank you to our dedicated staff who worked together to make the event such a success, and to our amazing Fundraising Team for their hard work organising the Mother’s Day raffle. With so many great prizes and happy winners, it was a wonderful way to celebrate the occasion! We hope all the mum’s out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day last Sunday too!

Attitude to School Survey

Over the coming weeks, students in Grades 4 to 6 will be completing the Attitudes to School Survey (AtSS). This annual survey, conducted by the Department of Education, helps schools better understand students' perceptions and experiences. It’s an important tool that supports our ongoing efforts to improve and make Echuca East an even better place to learn—through the eyes of our students. The survey takes around 20 minutes and is completed during class time. Further information was shared with families via the SENTRAL Parent Portal last week. Once results are available, we will use them to guide future planning and improvement.

ES Appreciation Day

Today is Education Support Appreciation Day, and we’re incredibly fortunate to have such an amazing team of ES staff here at Echuca East. While today is their official day of recognition, we truly appreciate them every single day! Whether it's in the classroom, the office, or the sickbay, our ES staff consistently go above and beyond to support our students and keep things running smoothly. A heartfelt thank you to each of them for the vital role they play in our school community.

A big thank you to:

  • Mitch and Megan in the Prep rooms
  • Serren, Mark, Eilish and Ada in level 2
  • Tahlia, Rach, and Sienna  in Level 3
  • Kathy and Kyle in Level 4
  • Ella and Jorja for stepping in the classrooms when needed
  • Jye in the wellbeing space
  • Mel and Jodi in the office

If you see them around the school today – take the time to say “thank you” – we couldn’t do it without them!

Farewells This Week

This week we say a special goodbye to Ms Caity Sim, who finishes up today as she begins her family leave in preparation for the exciting arrival of her new baby. We sincerely thank Caity for the care, dedication, and support she has shown our students during her time at Echuca East. We wish her all the very best in the coming weeks and look forward to welcoming one of our newest Little Easties soon!

We also bid farewell to one of our newest team members, Holly Kornman, who joined us this year in the intervention space. Holly has worked closely with our early years Koorie students, providing targeted support in literacy and numeracy. She finishes up today to embark on another overseas adventure. We thank Holly for her enthusiasm and commitment to our school and look forward to welcoming her back in the future!

Welcome

We are excited to welcome Caitlin Burgess to the Echuca East team next week. Mrs Burgess will be stepping into the 1/2C classroom, continuing the wonderful work of Ms Sim. With teaching experience dating back to 2006, and having recently relocated to Echuca from Melbourne, she brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm. We extend a warm welcome to Mrs Burgess and look forward to having her as part of our school community.

We’re thrilled to welcome our newest Little Eastie—Miles Thomas Collins, born on May 7th! Both mum (Brit Church) and baby are doing well. We can’t wait to meet little Miles and send all our love and best wishes to Miss Church and her family during this special time.

Good Luck to Our Cross Country Team!

Best of luck to our students representing Echuca East at the Campaspe Cross Country event today! We know they’ll give it their all and do us proud with their effort, determination, and great sportsmanship.

Data Week Reminder

A reminder to families that next week is Data Week. This time allows our teachers to step out of the classroom to analyse student learning data, helping them plan more targeted and personalised teaching. It's also that time of year when teachers are working hard on writing student reports. We appreciate your support during this important part of the term. Data days are as follows:

  • Monday  - Level 2
  • Tuesday – Level 4
  • Wednesday – Level 3
  • Thursday – Level 1
  • Friday - Specialist

On that note, wishing everyone a well earned relaxing weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone back again on Monday.
