ANZAC Activities in 1D

Term 2 Week 1

1D learned about the importance of ANZAC Day and why it is a significant time of remembrance in Australia. We explored the meaning of courage, sacrifice, and service, and reflected on how we can show gratitude for those who serve our country. As part of our learning, we made traditional ANZAC biscuits, created drawings of ANZAC Ted inspired by the book, and took part in other hands-on activities that helped bring the history to life.

We were also honoured to have class parent Liam Withers, who serves in the army, visit our class to share about his experiences. Through these activities, we discussed how God calls us to love and serve others, just as the ANZACs did. We remembered that God is always with us, even in difficult times, and that we can show His love through acts of kindness, bravery, and respect.
