Hello from our students and teachers

Respect, Responsibility and Kindness

Hello from Grade 4 - Ms K, Mrs K & Danni

Week 3 has been another busy and exciting week for our class. We thought we would share some of the things we have been doing.

Literacy

In Literacy we are using trusty old Fairytales as a tool to help us develop our traits of writing. We have been writing new endings, changing various elements and creating new tales with a bit of a twist. When reading we have been analysing characters and looking at situations from their point of view. Maybe Goldilocks is more of a criminal than a sweet little girl, after all she did tresspass and steal the bears food.

We have written about a range of characters this week, here are just a few.

Mathematics

In maths we are getting pretty good at using different strategies to add efficiently like, doubling, using near doubles. counting on, building to the nearest ten, adusting numbers to make them easier to work with and spliting them. This week we have used dice and card games to help develop our fluency.

Cooking

Our grade has started a 4 week cooking program with Miss Leversha. This week we made a delicious vegetabe pasta dish, savoury cheese and herb straws, a mars bar slice and a flourless chocolate cake. Everyone enjoyed making and eating what they produced especially the eating part. Perhaps you should ask your child to preparef something for dinner tonight.

GYM

Friday was our 3rd Gym sessions which has been a lot of fun. As you can see everyone has a smile on their face and is challenging themselves. It is amazing just how much progress everyone makes over the 4 sessions. It is a great program for building skills and confidence and for challenging yourslef and trying new things.

It has been a busy week but a great one.  Finally, we would like to wish all the Mother's and Grandmother's out there a wonderful Mothers' Day, enjoy.
