GENERAL NEWS

ADMIN APPRECIATION DAY
Last Friday our staff and students embraced the opportunity to acknowledge our exceptional office staff on Administration Appreciation Day. In addition to being the friendly welcoming faces at the front desk of St Nicholas School, our beautiful ladies do so much more than many realise to look after our school community and keep us all on track.
Finances, administering medications and first aid, excursion preparation, Compass notifications, organising and catering for all our big events (eg Mother's Day, Father's Day, Kinder Orientation, sporting events, Student Led Learning Conferences etc), keeping supplies up to date, clothing pool, lost property, newsletters, sick bay, enrolments, liaising with health care professionals, room bookings, organising staff rosters and casual teachers, updating school records, overseeing maintenance, supporting the PT&F, attendance, student welfare, pastoral care…..and of course responding to the hundreds of daily requests, questions and phone calls from us all. For your ongoing professionalism, patience, good humour and care. We say an enormous THANK YOU to each and every one of our divine administration staff. God's blessings to you all.
MOBILE PHONES
This term, there have not been many students handing in their phones to the front office compared to last term. Please remind your child that if they are bringing a mobile phone to school, they must hand it into the office at the beginning of the day. They are stored securely and students can collect them when dismissed from class. Thank you for your support with this.
PARENT READING NIGHT....SAVE THE DATE
ATTENTION KINDERGARTEN PARENTS (and any Year 1 and Year 2 Parents who have not yet attended a Parent Reading Night)
We invite you to attend our St Nicholas Parent Reading Night on Wednesday 28th May at 6pm. This is a valuable, practical evening where you will discover exactly how we teach and support your child to become a balanced reader. In the mini-workshops we will also focus on the many ways you can assist your child with their reading development at home.
Please pencil this in your diary now. More information to follow later this.

SCHOOL UNIFORM - SUMMER TO WINTER
It is expected that all students will be wearing the full winter uniform by Monday 12th May. Lowes stock all the St Nicholas uniforms, or we have a selection available in our clothing pool. Please ensure that your child is wearing a tie, as it is a compulsory part of the winter uniform.
SUPERVISION OF STUDENTS
All parents need to be aware, our supervision of students
does not begin until 8.15am each day.
St Nicholas School gates will not be open until the arrival of the first school bus at approximately 8.10am. It is not appropriate for children to be at school before this time with no supervision.
If your child/ren require care before 8.15am you may like to consider before school care here at school with Esteem.
