KSC 2025 SCHOOL PRODUCTION

This year our school production endeavours to capture one tiny slice of each decade, spanning the last 50 years of history, showing how urban life has changed over such a short period of time.  Starting in the 1970’s, we meet Margie and George, newly married and surrounded by ultramodern homes. Including their prized possession – their couch!

Spring forward a decade and it’s the 1980’s, our poor couch has been shuffled out of Margie and Georges home and dumped into a new family rumpus room, full of teenage girls and it’s sleepover time.

Another decade on and the couch is spending time with a garage grunge band 1990’s evolution, mice invade.  The 2000’s, and our couch has been commandeered for a share house, and the breakup of a significant relationship, our couch is the key comforter as the ice cream and movie fest breakup recovery occurs.

Another decade, 2010’s and it’s the rise of the gamer kid, couch in his bedroom and mum and dad needing him to do some chores. Our final decade arrives, the couch has been in five homes since it was purchased off the show room floor by Margie and George, it’s sixth home, a young couple making moves at work, one moves to Brooklyn and the couple try to keep their long-distance relationship alive.

Through it all, our couch sees it, feels it, lives it. It is the couch that ties all these homes together. Ms Reymer and Ms Handley have been auditioning for cast members over the last week. Casting to be released soon. Stay tuned for more info to come!
