Year 3/4 Report

Term 2 2025

Welcome back to our second Term in Grade 3/4!

Literacy

In Reading this Term, the 3/4s will be practising using a given reading goal to improve their reading skills. Each week students will receive, practise and work through a series of goals including making connections, reading with fluency, identifying the author's purpose and identifying the author's craft.

In Writing this Term, students in 3/4 will write a variety of procedure texts, beginning with 'How to Make Fairy Bread' to 'How to Draw an Object'. Students will use the text structure and accurate punctuation to write an instructive piece. Grade 3/4s will also write a variety of Realistic Fiction texts, modelled on real life experiences in our classrooms.

Numeracy

In Numeracy this Term, Grade 3/4s will explore a variety of measurement activities, measuring the lengths and perimeters of objects and areas within our school. Students will use their addition and subtractions knowledge to problem solve many measurement problems. Students will then develop their understanding of multiplication and division.

Inquiry

In Inquiry this term, students in Grade 3/4 will connect their learning and understanding of rules and laws in our school to the community around us. Students will explore the many ways we are connected to our local community, what our community does to support us and in turn how we can support our community.
