Welcome back everyone, I hope you all had a happy and active break. It was great to see all the students happy and ready to get back into their learning.
Our Prep and 1/2s students will dive into various throwing and catching games and sports as Term 2 begins. These fundamental movement activities foster crucial life skills, promoting healthy muscle development and enhancing hand-eye coordination.
Meanwhile, the 3/4s will embark on a journey through target games during the initial four weeks of the term. Through engaging activities, they'll refine their kicking and throwing accuracy while enjoying lively, active games. Following this, they'll transition into a track and field unit, honing their skills for athletics.
As for the 5/6s, building upon the foundation laid in the 3/4s are looking at target sports like lawn bowls, 10 pin bowling, golf and various mini games. They will move into track and field next as they try their best to make the athletics team in Term 3.
This term, our Year 5/6 students will be training and competing in AFL, soccer, and netball. After a term of dedicated training, our teams are now moving into the selection phase. We’re proud of their hard work and wish them all the best as they represent us on the field. The 5/6 teams will compete in three rounds of winter sport, with the goal of progressing to the finals in Week 9. Go team!
This year’s Cross Country will take place at Merrifield Recreation Reserve on May 16. Our students have been training hard to give themselves the best chance on race day, tackling a challenging 2km or 3km course. A number of Year 4, 5, and 6 students will be aiming to qualify for the district level. We wish them the best of luck—and fingers crossed for clear skies!
