Learning Conversations

Thank you to all of our families who were able to attend. We truly value the time you’ve taken to participate in learning conversations.

If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, we warmly encourage you to reach out. Establishing strong relationships and maintaining open, two-way communication helps us work together to support your child’s growth and success.

We are grateful to everyone who has engaged in this important process. Your partnership helps our teachers better understand you and your learner, and it makes a meaningful difference in your child’s educational

NAPLAN

Beginning next week, Year 3 & 5 students will participate in the NAPLAN testing.

A parent information pack is available here

If your family are considering withdrawing your child from the testing, please notify the Principal ASAP as there is some paperwork to be completed and signed. As always, it is your choice as a family.

Mobile Phones

A reminder that the Department of Education has in place a mobile phone ban that requires students who bring mobiles phones to school to have them switched off and securely put away during school hours (DPS policy is for phones to be handed in at the office).

The ban applies equally to all government schools right across the state.

Glasses For Kids

This year Drysdale PS has been invited to take part in the Glasses for Kids program; they will be attending school in Term 2: Week 5 (20th-22nd May)

This is a free service provided by State Schools' Relief with support from the Victorian State Government, for all Foundation (Prep) to Year 3 students. You do not need to have a health care card to participate.

Getting glasses through the Glasses for Kids program can help your child see better. This makes it easier for them to learn, read, and play at school. Good vision helps children do their best in class and feel more confident every day.

Your child will receive a letter about their vision screening outcome to bring homeat the conclusion of our visit.

How can my child participate?

  • To participate, you need to complete the consent form that was sent home last week or the online consent form using the QR code on the form.
