DEAKIN DISTRICT SUMMER CARNIVAL (Year 5/6)

The Deakin District Summer Carnival is on Thursday 5th March from 11.30am - 2.30pm for all Year 5/6 students. The students will be playing Tee ball, Cricket, Dodgeball and Swimming at Geelong College Middle School, Aberdeen St, Geelong West and Tennis at Geelong College Senior School, Aphrasia St, Newtown. Parents and friends are welcome to attend.

The Compass Excursion note is ready for approval with consent closing on Friday 27th February. 

HOUSE ATHLETICS (Year 3-6)

The annual School House Athletics is on Friday 6th March at Landy Field, South Geelong from 9.30am - 2.30pm for all Year 3 - 6 students. Students will compete in Athletics events and will need to wear their HOUSE colours.  Thank you to the parents who have offered their support for the day to date.  We still require  a few more parents to offer support.

We would love the support of parents on the day to help time keep etc.  If you are available for any time during the day (10.00am - 12.00pm and 12.30pm - 2.30pm) please contact Mrs Burns.

Event Program Times

Parents and friends are welcome to attend. All students are required to be at school by 8.45am. Bus departs at 9.05am. Students require enough food and drink for the day, sunscreen and hat.

SCHOOL FUN RUN/CROSS COUNTRY (Prep—Year 6)

The School Fun Run/Cross Country will be held on Thursday 19th March 11.30am - 1.30pm for all students in Prep - Year 6. Students are encouraged to wear their HOUSE Colours for the event. From the results of the Year 3-6 events (age group races), we will select our School Cross Country team to compete at the District event on Thursday 23rd April during Term 2.

12.30pm - Prep Boys (400m)

1.00pm - Year 1 Girls (600m)

1.10pm - Year 2 Boys (800m)

1.20pm - Year 2 Girls (800m)

1.30pm - Event Finishes

2026 TEAM VIC TRIALS 

Thank you to all students who have nominated for Team Vic trials, We are currently holding trials for Basketball, Netball , Soccer and AFL. Students will be informed if they  are one of the 3 nominations for each sport from Grovedale West. It is the parent’s responsibility to register your child. *TEAM VIC trials nominations close on 2nd March.

Regional trials are held for each sport on the following dates:

The trials will be at various venues in Melbourne with an entry fee of $35.00 per student.
