Project Compassion
This week in our Project Compassion campaign with Caritas Australia, students learned about Monoranjon and his family in southwest Bangladesh. He lives with his wife Anita and their two children, relying on farming to provide for them. In their region, millions of people face poverty, with many unable to meet their basic daily needs.
The area is already heavily impacted by climate change, experiencing heatwaves, floods, cyclones and rising sea levels. Increased soil salinity has made farming difficult and threatens nearby mangrove forests. Through this story, students are learning about compassion, global challenges and how their support can help make a difference.
Students will have brought a box home to help raise funds and awareness. We are not asking for straight donations, rather acts of service from our students, whose parents may then exchange for a donation to the caritas box. Acts of service could be cleaning jobs, playing with your younger sibling, preparing dinner, etc.
