Sport
Last Thursday, presentations were made to students who have represented St Joseph's in sport this year. There were a large number of students who received awards across a variety of sports. We are very proud of the number of students across all year levels who are involved in sport at St Joseph’s. We are also very appreciative of the staff who are involved in sport from management to coaching as well driving the school bus and to parents who continually support sport at the school. Awards for students who have represented the Diocese, Northern NSWCCC, NSWCCC and NSW All Schools will be awarded at the Years 7-9 and Years 10/11 presentation nights. The Sportsman and Sportswoman Awards will be presented at the Years 10/11 night.
Stroke Correction Program and Bronze Medallion
During this term, Mrs Carr and Mrs Gallagher have conducted a stroke correction and swim confidence program at the Muswellbrook Pool during school sport. This has been a most valuable and successful program for the students involved and will continue in 2025. A Bronze Medallion program has also been conducted at Muswellbrook Pool on Thursday sport under the instruction of Mrs Sarah Smith and Mr Steve Sokulsky. The group of Year 10 students have worked very hard in developing their lifesaving skills and will be rewarded with obtaining their Bronze Medallions. This is a highly respected and valued Royal Lifesaving Award.

League Tag
Last Wednesday, November 27th, in extremely hot conditions, St Joseph’s entered four teams in the Jane Walmsley League Tag gala day across both the Under 14 and Under 17 age groups. All four teams represented the school phenomenally and played exceptionally well throughout the day.
The Year 8 girls' team triumphed in the Under 14’s age group, securing a hard-fought victory against Muswellbrook High. The girls showed incredible determination, making a remarkable comeback in the final minutes to seal the win.
In the Under 17’s age group, the Year 10/11 girls' team showcased their skill and speed, comfortably defeating St Catherine's Singleton. Their outstanding performance led them to victory, demonstrating their dominance on the field.
A special thank you goes to Jack S, Harrison F, Casey M, and Bailey C, who assisted the NRL by refereeing and providing much-needed water to the girls on the field. Their support was invaluable and greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to all the girls for their excellent effort and sportsmanship!
