FIRST EVER CPS COLOUR RUN A SMASHING SUCCESS!
What a day we had last Friday at our first CPS Colour Run. We - literally - painted the school in all the colours of the rainbow!
Judging from the smiles on the kids faces, we are confident everyone the kids had an absolute ball. We were blown away by their enthusiasm (and impressed by how many laps they managed to fit in 15 minutes).
To the entire CPS community, thank you for sharing the joy, the fun and the colour that makes our school shine bright!
Special thanks must go to:
- Our 50+ parent volunteers who for over four hours helped out with the best attitude and enthusiasm, showered the kids with colour and bubbles, and cleaned up afterwards. The event literally could not have happened without you and we hope you had a lot of fun too
- The organising committee (Kelly, Monica, Claire, Bart, Jenn & Laura) whose careful planning over the past few months ensured the event went smoothly
- Our teachers who not only encouraged the kids to participate but took part themselves, all the while supporting those kids who needed a little bit of extra guidance
- Our leadership team for dressing up and supporting this event, with a special shout out to Karen BG who helped the committee with much of the behind-the-scenes organisation
- All the friends and family who have made sponsorship donations, your generosity means a lot
- The fabulous aftercare team (and students) who combined pink water play with some serious cleaning , and shared their speaker!
- Our amazing students whose excitement in the leadup and during the event was absolutely infectious. It was also lovely to watch our students looking out for one another during the event, particularly some Grade 6 buddies who took care of the Preppies during their run.
Still time to donate!
We can’t wait to share how much we’ve raised to further improve our school’s outdoor play spaces. For now, we’ll keep it under wraps but let’s just say we’ve exceeded expectations. There is still time to donate and remember, the class that raises the most funds will get a special lunch put on by the PFA!
The race for first place is going down to the wire with the leaderboard changing daily. The top ten fundraising classes (in order) are currently:
- 2A
- 4A
- Prep C
- Prep B
- 4C
- 1A
- 3A
- 1B
- 3B
- Prep A
Qkr will remain open for sponsorship donations until this Wednesday 27th November (closing 11:59pm) to allow families to get those final-hour donations into the system The winning class will be announced at the next whole-school assembly on Friday 6th December.
Thank you!
Again, a huge thank you to everyone who supported this Colour Run, from the parents who volunteered to the friends and family who donated and of course each and every student who took part and had a blast! We hope it is the first of many successful Colour Runs at CPS!
Finally, enjoy this selection of photos - we’ll be sharing more soon.
