Paing's Wellbeing Corner
Dear Families,
As we near the end of another term, I wanted to take a moment to share some updates and insights from our wellbeing space. It's been a privilege to support our students on their personal and social journeys, and I’m thrilled to see the progress many are making in resilience, confidence and teamwork.
Focus on Friendships
Friendships play such an important role in a child’s school experience. This term, I’ve been working with groups of students across different year levels to strengthen their social skills and conflict resolution abilities. Whether it’s helping the younger students learn to get along, supporting girl groups through friendship challenges, or guiding older students as they develop leadership skills, the focus is always on creating kind and inclusive relationships.
If your child ever talks about needing help with friends or social challenges, feel free to reach out. Open communication between home and school is key to helping children feel supported.
Building Confidence
I’ve also had the pleasure of working with students on a project where they created posters and shared them with their class. This activity helped build their confidence as they felt a sense of accomplishment. Seeing their faces light up with pride as they complete these tasks has been a highlight.
For other students, we’ve explored creative outlets like drawing and woodcraft to foster focus and self-expression. Activities like these encourage students to discover their strengths and enjoy the process of learning.
Emotional awareness
We have worked on using research based programs and activities to our students centred around emotion and social awareness in order to help students understand their emotions and equip them with the tools needed to handle them, in particular more challenging emotions such as anger, anxiety, etc.
