Grade 3
Integrated
The students have loved continuing on our virtual journey around Australia and neighbouring countries, while also working with different peers and teachers in our year level. They have made the Sydney Opera House, created sailboats and tested them in water, drawn some Australian animals and even participated in some drumming, to name a few activities.
English
The students have enjoyed narrative writing this term in English. They made creepy carrots to set the scene for their Halloween narratives, and wow, were we impressed with the writing that was produced! We are looking forward to moving across to writing information reports, where the students will conduct some research on a chosen animal’s appearance, diet and habitat.
Mathematics
In Mathematics, the students have been conducting some fun chance experiments and discussing possible outcomes of everyday situations. They have also had the opportunity to create different graphs to represent data they have collected.
BYOD
Next year is a ‘Bring Your Own Device’ year. The students are excited to take the next step in their learning journey. It will be wonderful to see them as they become even more independent as learners.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for an amazing year. The students have been a delightful cohort to teach and each and every one of them will be missed. We wish everyone all the best for the rest of this year and in Grade 4.
Warm regards,
The Grade 3 Teachers
