From the Educators

OSHC Educator

Hi, my name is Jewels and I am an educator at Lockley's North OSHC. I have worked here for about 18 months.

I have worked at a few different schools over my years in the industry but this has to be the best school that I have had the pleasure of working at. I feel incredibly fortunate to be in a role that allows me to combine my love for working with children and my passion for creating a positive, supportive environment for them to learn, grow, and thrive. Every day, I get to contribute to shaping their experiences outside of school hours, offering a safe, fun, and engaging space where they can explore new interests, build friendships, and develop important life skills.

I believe that every child is unique, and I make it a priority to understand their individual needs, personalities, and learning styles. This enables me to tailor my interactions and activities to help them thrive. Whether it's through a creative activity, playing games, or simply listening to their thoughts & stories, I strive to make every moment meaningful.

My favourite things to do with the children would be colouring in, playing uno, or playing cricket that I'm absolutely hopeless at so the children have lots of fun beating me.

The joy I feel when I see the children's smiles and hear their laughter is what I love most about this job. I am proud of the trust they place in me, and I aim ensure they feel valued, respected, and safe in my care. My passion for education and my genuine love for working with children motivates me to continue developing as an educator, always looking for new ways to support their growth and well-being.

I am excited for the upcoming vacation care program! Particularly, to watch The Lion King at Semaphore Cinema!

Cheers,

Jewels
