We would like to congratulate Emma S on her selection to the 15 years 2025 Queensland Representative School Sport Merit team following the recent Queensland Championships. This is an incredible opportunity and showcases the dedication that Emma has for her sport. We wish her the best of luck in her Cricket endeavours next year. Grace K was also in this Met. North Team and captained the side to the final. The Met. North Team won the State Championships and from all reports our students played a pivotal role in this success. Well done Emma and Grace.
As we approach the end of the year, the HPE Team has been planning for the 2025 Swimming Carnival. This event will be held in Week 2 of Term 1 on Friday 7 o February. We are trying a new format for the swimming carnival this year. The competitive events will be held earlier in the day before the main carnival. The main events on the day will include participation events and various other aquatic fun and games. We look forward to sharing more information towards the end of the year and early in 2025.
This week we have had three of our futsal teams competing at the National School Futsal Championships. This event is a culmination of the hard work and dedication these students have put into Futsal this year. A massive congratulations to the under 14s girls, under 13s girls and opens boys teams on qualifying for this competition. A huge thank you to teachers Lauren Kennedy, Patrick Hoey & Elyse Green for your work in supporting students to compete in these events.
Our U13 Girls entered as a wildcard and although did not make the playoffs they put up some really good performances against some very experienced futsal schools. They showed great resilience and determination during the tournament.
Our U14's Girls on the back of being Queensland School Champions, made it to the Quarter Finals on Tuesday and narrowly lost 5-4 (in the last 30 seconds...devastating!). Well done for your phenomenal efforts and achievements!
Our Open Boys team made it through to the Semi Finals which places them amongst the best four school teams in the Nation. What a fabulous achievement for our school, the students and supporters. Well done to all for these fabulous results.
