P&C Update

I was so lucky to attend the Graduation of Year 12s last Thursday, it was a beautiful ceremony and mercifully much cooler with the evening ceremony. The P&C provided canapes and staffed bars and the café to provide refreshments to the over 1100 family and friends as well as the graduating students. The electrical storm hit just as everyone was arriving, but nothing could detract from the excitement from everyone there. We have taken on board our improvements for next time – more champagne, more roaming drinks wagons, more circulation of the food. The students all looked amazing and did not show that they were sleep deprived from their formal the night before. All in all it was a fabulous evening and I was privileged to see these students, many of whom I have known since primary school, finish their last school event.
The energy drain is real at this time of year – but with a final push we can get through to Christmas break.
Speaking of a last push, the last events are coming up in the next week. I’m looking forward to the Junior Awards night next Wednesday, and hope to see many of you there.
Make sure you book in at the uniform shop for new or second hand uniforms for next year.
Tuckshop hours will be limited in Weeks 10 and 11, reflecting how many students will be at school and have usual break times. Please note, tuckshop will be open only for first break in Week 10 and 11 and will be closed for stocktake on the final Friday in Week 11.
Thankyou to all the incredibly hard working helpers on the night of the Graduation. We had a great response to our call out for volunteers to help make it a magical night for the Year 12s, and all the helpers on the night braved the rain, the crowds and the selling out of champagne to make the inaugural Graduation Soiree a great pre-ceremony celebration.
