SUPER

STRENGTHS

At our school, we believe in the power of character strengths to shape our community and help each student shine. Character strengths are the positive qualities that influence how we think, feel, and behave. By focusing on these strengths, we can support each other in becoming the best versions of ourselves.

This fortnight, we are celebrating Creativity as our character strength focus! Creativity is all about using our imagination to come up with new ideas, solve problems in unique ways, and express ourselves through things like art, music, writing, and even science. When students practice creativity, they learn to think outside the box and approach tasks with an open mind. Creativity isn't just about creating something new; it’s also about exploring different ways of thinking.

In the classroom, we’re encouraging creativity through fun activities, inquiry, and challenges. From designing their own stories to coming up with solutions to everyday problems, our students are finding ways to use their unique talents and ideas. Creativity is an important strength because it helps children build confidence in their abilities, work with others to share ideas, and enjoy learning in a whole new way.

Parents and carers, you can support creativity at home by encouraging your children to ask questions, explore new activities, and express themselves freely. Activities like drawing, building, cooking, and storytelling are all great ways to inspire creativity.

Let’s continue to celebrate and nurture this wonderful character strength together!

Celebrating World Kindness Day!

On Wednesday, November 13th, our school was thrilled to join millions around the world in celebrating World Kindness Day! Kindness is one of the most powerful ways we can make our world a better place, and it starts right here in our school community. World Kindness Day is all about spreading joy, respect, and compassion through simple acts of kindness, like giving a compliment, helping a friend, or even just sharing a smile.

Our students took part in classroom activities, including kindness challenges like writing thank-you notes or inviting new friends to join in a game. Teachers also joined in with an Acts of Random Kindness (ARK) activity, secretly sharing thoughtful gifts or gestures with one another, adding a touch of surprise and warmth throughout the school.

Kindness is a strength that can be practiced every day, and World Kindness Day is a wonderful reminder of the positive impact we can all have. We encourage families to join us by talking with your children about ways to be kind at home and in the community.

Happy World Kindness Day! Together, let’s keep the spirit of kindness alive every day.
