Year 5-6 Science

This term students in years 5 & 6 have started their exploration of health. So far, they have been investigating what pathogens are and how their bodies react to infections. They’ve experimented with hand washing and ‘sneezing’ and looked at the most effective ways to reduce the spread of germs.

 

Investigating what happens to virus models when soap is used.

For the remainder of the term, students will be investigating brain science. They will be introduced to the various parts of the brain and learn how stress and sleep can affect thinking and learning. Students will also be introduced to the brain’s ability to grow and change.
