Parent Information Evening

After a number of years of running online parent information evenings, Ballarat High School returned to in-person evening sessions in 2023. Two information evenings were held; one for Year 10 and VCE and another for students transitioning into Year 9.

It was fantastic to see so many students and carer's attending the evening and speaking to teaching staff about their future pathways. HeadStart and Central Highlands VET were also on hand to answer student and parent questions.   The evening provides an excellent opportunity to discover the wide range of subjects and pathways offered at Ballarat High School.

A big thank you to the faculty leaders and staff that attended to share their knowledge, advice and to provide guidance to our students. A special thank you to our MIPS team for attending and supporting students with additional pathways information, and our special guests from HeadStart and VET.

The Victorian Curriculum V2.0 is coming!

The Victorian Government has started to release the new Victorian Curriculum, to be implemented in 2025 and beyond. The new Mathematics curriculum has already been released, with all other subjects expected to be released during the remainder of Term 3. Once the curriculum is released, staff begin to engage with the familiarisation process, professional development and reviewing the current curriculum. During this process, staff also begin to prepare to implement the new curriculum by developing and sharing resources and knowledge amongst their teams.
