Year 8 Volleyball 

SSV Eureka Year 8 Volleyball 

On Monday 21st August BHS took 2 sides (Year 8 Boys & Year 8 Girls) to the SSV Eureka Year 8 Volleyball competition at the Daylesford Secondary College under the guidance of the Daylesford Volleyball Association.

The Year 8 Girls team were able to navigate through the pool play to qualify for the semi-finals, unfortunately they went down to Woodmans Hills Secondary College. The team then moved onto the runner up final where they managed to defeat Phoenix College to finish in 3rd place for the day.

The Year 8 Boys team were able to also make the semi finals where they defeated Woodmans Hill to qualify for the Grand Final against Daylesford Secondary College who are always tough to beat. In the Grand Final BHS took the first set but Daylesford bounced back to even it up 1-1, in the end Daylesford was too strong and won the match leaving BHS the runners up on the day.

All the teams had a great day out playing a sport that isn’t very familiar to many of them. We hope they all decide to play again next year and in the BAS After School Sports team.
