SSV State Senior Boys Football Quarterfinals

On Tuesday 15th August, BHS qualified for the SSV Senior Boys Football State Quarter Finals at the local CE Brown Reserve (Lake Wendouree Football Club). The team played Montmorency Secondary College in an enthralling match.

Montmorency were in the lead for a majority of the match until a late surge by the BHS team saw them in the lead with 30 seconds remaining in the match. Disaster struck with a late goal from Montmorency in the dying seconds to level up the scores at full time, extra time would be played to determine the winner. Unfortunately, the BHS team let an early goal through and Montmorency ran away with the win 7-8-50 to 6-7-43.

Coach Ashley Baker was full of praise for the team for continuing to push Montmorency all the way to extra time.

The Senior Boys Football team has made the SSV State Quarterfinals the last 2 years.

The boys were also treated by the appearance of potential AFL number 1 draft pick Harley Reid who was attending with his school St Joseph's College, Echuca. Luckily for those participating Harley was only watching the matches.
