Soccer - Girls
Football Victoria Premier Schools Football Cup
On Friday 25th August, BHS recruited our strongest possible Girls soccer team for the Football Victoria Premier Schools Football Cup at the Darebin International Sports Centre. This competition brings together all the Victoria’s strongest private, catholic and state schools for a massive all-day competition.
The day started off against Caulfield Grammar with a narrow 1-2 loss (Goals – Zoe Maggi) including an unfortunate own goal! This followed a 0-2 loss to Kardinia International College and a 0-6 loss to Maribyrnong College who went on to win the whole competition.
The final match against Aquinas College ended in a 2-2 draw (Goals – Cobi Wilbert) and the girls were able to put some points on the board!
Faith Scholten (Team Manager), was very impressed with the skill and effort demonstrated by the girls. Apart from the loss to Maribyrnong, the girls held their own and were unlucky to not put a couple of wins on the board. A special mention to Cobi Wilbert who captained the team and lead with determination and finesse.
A big thank you to Katie McAloon (ex student) who came along to coach the team.
Coach: Kaite McAloon & Faith Scholten.
