Science week – Celebrations of Learning

It was wonderful to see all classes conducting a variety of science experiments yesterday afternoon. Students listened and watched with curiosity, wondering what would happen when different ingredients were mixed.

This was a slightly different Celebration of Learning, and we were pleased to see so many family members attend. Children love to see their families at school, and it makes learning even more special. Thank you to Mrs Uzunovski for coordinating the activities. We hope you enjoyed yourself and enjoy the photos we will include in next week's newsletter.

Roadworks

Please note that the Council will be constructing new footpaths on Hogan Street. They will start on Monday 21st August, at the oval end of the street. They will continue down to the car park end during the September holidays. While they are carrying out this work, there will only be one way traffic and it may take you a very long time to get through. If you usually use Hogan Street, it would be a great idea for you to consider a different way to and from school. See maps attached in the Community Information section of the newsletter.

School Captains

I was very proud of our school captains who joined my senior leadership team for Principals Day. They were interested in finding out about what school leaders do and asked some probing questions.

What do you talk about at your meetings? What does a typical day look like?

End of Term

Our Intervention and Coaching programs are much valued and have had an outstanding impact on students and staff. Unfortunately, we must pause these programs for the rest of the term because for a number of reasons including staff taking leave and we cannot get CRTs.  We are working on some changes to ensure we minimise class splits and so that classrooms are covered. Information will be sent home tomorrow with students affected. Thank you for understanding and for your ongoing support.

Kind regards,
