Payment plans and different payment options

Do you ever find that Compass doesn’t cater for the payment option that would suit your family?  If this is the case, please contact us and let us know via a confidential email to kalinda.ps@education.vic.gov.au.

There are lots of different payment options available, but Compass limits us to offering one option to all families.  If paying for an event over several weeks, or in smaller payments, suits your circumstances better, we are happy to make this available to you.

For further information please feel free to contact the office on 9876 3289, or by email to kalinda.ps@education.vic.gov.au asking to speak to Jen or Melissa in Finance. All finance and administration matters are strictly confidential, and we are happy to help in any way we can.

Authority for another person to pick up your child

Occasionally families will have the need for someone else to pick up their child. For the safety of your child, please complete the attached letter, and contact the office so we can let staff be aware.  The form used is a template from the Department of Education, and will remain in the school archives. Primary School children are unable to leave the grounds, before 3.30 pm by themselves.

Changes to how we notify you of head bumps

It is a Department of Education requirement that we notify parents of any head bumps that occur during the school day, regardless of the severity of the injury.

For minor instances, in the past, we have phoned families with a courtesy call.  We are currently trialling this notification by SMS.  You will only receive an SMS notification if the head bump appears insignificant in nature.

We will continue to call families for more severe injuries and illnesses, and if a child has further symptoms after a head knock. We hope that this small change will help us interrupt carers less, and help prevent the anxiety some people feel when the school’s number pops up on their phone.

If you have any feedback about this trial please let us know.

Term 4 is a Sunhat term

Time to find and label all those hats!  Term 4 is a Sun hat term. That means any time students are outside ( PE, recess, lunchtime, etc.) they need to wear a wide-brimmed hat. The school uniform is Navy, and they are available from our supplier. Any plain navy wide-brimmed hat will be suitable. If a student ( all grades - Foundation to Grade 6) does not have a hat, they will need to play under the covered areas. Please assist staff by making sure that the hats are named. For health reasons, we do not allow hat sharing.

During the holidays

Please note there will be a lot of work going on during the holidays to our grounds. We ask that all families stay safe and always supervise their own children at all times. External work on the embankment and areas near the Foundation playground, near the staff car park. These areas externally around the art room will be very busy.

We like to remind families using the grounds on the holidays that vandals or destructive behaviour should always be reported to the local police.

If you witness anything we ask that you remain safe whilst you call the authorities.
