100 Days of School

On Friday 4th August, our Foundation students celebrated their 100 Days of School. During the day they participated in lots of fun activities all related to the number 100. Students came dressed in some amazing outfits which they enjoyed sharing with everyone on our tour around the school.

Congratulations to all the Foundation students on reaching their 100th Day of School!

The Foundation students have been learning all about patterns in maths. They have sorted items and created patterns based on various attributes. We worked hard to create some amazing patterns using items from around the classroom this week.

This term in Foundation we have been learning all about different ways we can care for the Earth. We have learnt some interesting facts about pollution, landfill and recycling. On Monday we had Carlie from the Campaspe Shire come to speak to us about the Council’s waste system and how we should sort our rubbish at home.

Our students were lucky enough to begin early Science Week celebrations last week.  We were spoiled by Mr Grabham and Ms Grieve who wowed and amazed us with an exciting mix of activities. Many students were heard saying "this is the best day ever!" when moving around the four activities.

A highlight was definitely the rockets which were set off and whooshed up into the sky outside by Ms Grieve. The screaming jelly babies and Van De Graaff machine created lots of chatter and being able to hang out in the Science Room was certainly a hit. Lots of smiles were seen when bubbles were blown inside bubbles on our classroom tables and our arm muscles were certainly worn out from shaking our sticky and gooey slime. It was wonderful to listen to students' predictions and then explanations of what was happening before we wrote about the fun we had.

We hope you enjoy some of our terrific writing.

Wow! Yesterday was so much fun. I was very excited to see the rockets fly up in the air. I got shocked! We had to put bubbles in a bubble and we blew through a straw. We made slime, we had to shake it. It was warm.     By Damon

We had heaps of fun the other day. We did experiments. An experiment was slime. The slime was sticky and gooey. Screaming jelly babies were very cute.   By Maggie

Yesterday we were doing science to celebrate Science Week. We did rockets, slime, screaming jelly babies and finally, what was the funnest one that will blow your minds? We blew a bubble. We were making rockets. We were pumping a bottle with a cork on top of it and now I will tell you about the screaming jelly babies. So it started with a liquid and then we put the jelly babies in and then we did slime and we put special liquid in and then we had to shake it. It was so cool.    By Korbin

I had so much fun at Science. I saw a jelly baby on fire. Then I made slime and it was very sticky. Then I saw a rocket, it went super high. It was so much fun. At Van De Graaff I got zapped three times. The jelly babies were on fire because it made heaps of smoke. My favourite was the zap it.   By Nate C
