We have a TASC Moderation Day on Friday 1 September, resulting in a Year 7-12 student Free Day/Study Day. Students in Kinder to Year 6 will attend the College as normal for their classes on this day.
We began today by welcoming 500 visitors to our Presentation Families Father’s Day Breakfast. It was great to see our families coming together and the great pride that was evident with the students showing off the school to their parents. We look forward to holding more Presentation Families events in the future and encourage all to get involved in our very welcoming College community. If you’re keen to get involved in any way, please contact our Community Relations team on communications@smc.tas.edu.au
There were many activities for students to get involved in during National Science Week, and I was lucky to attend several science demonstrations on electricity and light in our Junior School, where the excitement and student involvement was great to see.
As always, Book Week was celebrated by the whole College community, highlighting the importance of books and reading for children. The event is a fun way to get students to read more, enjoy stories and improve their social skills. The Book Week dress up parade was the highlight of the week and enjoyed by all.
A reminder that our Junior School Open Morning will be held on Thursday 21 September. Prospective families and students are warmly invited to come along to our Open Day to meet our staff and students and discover all that the College has to offer. To attend this event, we ask that you please register your attendance by clicking here.
