Writer’s Workshop: we continuing to explore Poetry this week. We will be creating different types of poems. Poems have patterns when words, phrases or ideas are repeated or rhyme.

Reader’s Workshop: we will continue to explore the reading environment and what is needed to create a space for reading, as well as choosing ‘good fit’ books.

Mathematics: we will spend time this week exploring fractions. We will begin by using physical objects to represent fractions.

Unit of Inquiry: We will continue our ‘How We Organise Ourselves’ unit of inquiry which is all about patterns - “Patterns in the world can influence how we organise ourselves.” This week we will continue exploring how real-world patterns like timetables, clocks, seasons and calendars help us to be organised. We are also exploring how using dance and drama we can make patterns using our bodies.

Reminders:

Harmony Day – Survey

As part of our commitment to celebrating the rich cultural diversity within our school community, we invite you to complete this short survey about your family’s cultural background and your child’s sense of belonging at school. Your insights will help us ensure that every student feels seen, valued, and included. We are also seeking parent support for our upcoming Harmony Day celebrations and would love to know if you are able to contribute in any way. Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to nurture a welcoming and inclusive community for all.
