ArtExpress - Art Gallery of NSW

On Wednesday 11 March, our Year 9-12 Visual Arts students had the exciting opportunity to visit the ArtExpress Exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW. This exhibition showcases highly accomplished artworks from the Visual Arts HSC cohort of 2025, offering our students a unique chance to observe a diverse range of artmaking mediums and styles.

The students engaged deeply with the rich concepts behind the artworks, gaining valuable insights into contemporary artistic practices. In addition to ArtExpress, the group explored the remarkable Ron Mueck exhibition and experienced Mike Hewson's innovative installation, 'The Key's Under the Mat', in the redesigned Tank Space.

They also took time to pursue the permanent exhibitions in the main gallery space, broadening their appreciation of visual arts.

It was a rewarding cultural experience, and the students thoroughly enjoyed their day immersed in the vibrant world of art at the Art Gallery of NSW.

Today, Friday the 20th of March, we came together to celebrate Harmony Day and the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Led by our dedicated SRC, students participated in a special assembly, heard from a guest speaker from Together for Humanity Alysha, and took part in engaging activities during Break 2.

We are committed to fostering inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for all Australians — from the traditional owners of this land to those who have come from many countries around the world. Today's celebration reminded us that “Everyone Belongs,” and inspired our school community to embrace diversity and make our school a better place for all.

Message From the Deputy: John Mifsud

I wanted to share with the school community the great show of connection and belonging our students have with the school.

Our playground is full of action, play, noise and happiness. I see students of all year groups interacting with each other playing table tennis, volleyball, basketball, soccer, chess, music, dance groups and other activities of their choosing. Every child involved in these programs is showing huge development and happiness.

There is so much happening it really is up to the students to volunteer and join in. Help your child to get involved in groups - all they can do is have fun, learn new skills and make more friends.
