Assistant Principal's News

Josie Burt

Welcome to Term 4 families. We have already had some wonderful activities and experiences for our students to participate in:

  • Woolworths Cricket Clinics,

  • Westall Secondary Taster Day for Year 5s,

  • Monash Waverley Divisional Athletics Championships,

  • Karate classes,

  • Chess Club,

  • Digi-makers class.

There are many wonderful experiences planned throughout this term for your children to enjoy.

    RRR Awards

It is lovely to see students from many different year levels being recognised for the school values awards at assembly: Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.

Respect includes friends, teachers, the classroom, equipment and the school grounds.

Responsibility includes looking after your belongings, looking after peers, and completing your tasks.

Resilience at school is finding solutions to problems, not letting a setback get you down, and looking for the positive in a situation.

Well done to all our winners so far this term.

Cricket Blast

We have 40 students enrolled to participate in a 4-week free Cricket program. The first session last week was a fantastic success. It was lovely to see students of all ages playing cricket together.

Book Club & Book Fair

We have our final issue of Book club (Issue 7) for families to order online. The closing date for this issue is 27th of October.

We will have the book fair set up later this term, in Weeks 7 & 8.

Reading Eggs and Mathletics

Reminder to families that your child's subscription for these apps is for at home as well as at school.

Students who are doing regular, short, targeted tasks are finding that they are retaining phonics and number facts at a faster rate. Practice and repetition are key ways for new knowledge to become core knowledge that student can use in their classes at school.

At home practice does not have to be long or every day but regular times will help your child consolidate school learning at home.
