Principal's Report

🎈Unexpected Visitors🎈

Isn't it fun when unexpected visitors drop in, unannounced, and you haven't had a chance to prepare anything? Well, we know the feeling after a hot air balloon made an emergency landing on our oval this morning, with some very famous chefs on board. Apparently, Gino and Fred of 'Gordon, Gino and Fred's Road Trip' were on board, but whisked away quickly to their lovely motor home after landing. Luckily everyone was safe, albeit very excited by the unexpected arrival on our oval.

Specialist Showcase

Congratulations to all our 5/6 students and Specialist Teachers for putting on a wonderful show of The Three Little Pigs in Japanese today! Students planned and created the sets, costumes, the scripts and delivered their shows to a captive audience of students, staff and parents. Thanks for the entertainment, friends!

📈📊School Review 2026📈📊

A school review process occurs every four years and is an essential opportunity to pause, reflect, and “adjust the sails” to ensure we’re still heading in the right direction. It allows us to celebrate our achievements, identify areas for growth, and align our goals and practices with the needs of our students and community. By engaging in thoughtful reflection and evidence-based planning, we can refine our course and ensure that every action we take continues to move the school forward with purpose, clarity, and collective direction.

Our next School Review will take place in Term 1, 2026, over three days, likely later in the term. We are proud to be among the first schools to engage in the new review model, which is designed to provide a more focused and efficient assessment of our progress and impact. The review will culminate in the development of a new four-year School Strategic Plan—our roadmap for continued growth and improvement.

This process will involve the whole school community, including students, staff, and parents. It offers a valuable opportunity to reflect on our many achievements, celebrate what makes our school exceptional, and collaboratively plan the next steps in ensuring the highest standards of learning and wellbeing for all students.

Planning for 2026

Planning for our 2026 classes is now underway. To help us prepare as accurately as possible, we ask that families advise the school as soon as possible if their child will be moving schools at the end of this year for any reason.

If you know of any families who are planning to enrol for 2026, whether in Prep or other year levels, please encourage them to contact the school office soon to begin the enrolment process.

Families who have any specific requests regarding their child’s class placement for 2026 are invited to put these in writing and send them to the Principal by Friday, November 7th. While individual requests will be carefully considered, please note that requests for specific teachers will not be accepted. I have the utmost confidence in all of our staff and their ability to teach to a high professional standard, ensuring every child learns and thrives in a positive, supportive environment.

🐝🐝🐝Term 4 Working Bees🐝🐝🐝

We’re excited to announce two Working Bees this term, and we’d love your help to get a few big jobs done in the school and kindergarten grounds before the end of the year!

🔹 Friday 7 November, 3:30–5:30pm

This afternoon will focus on spreading mulch around the school grounds to freshen up our gardens and play areas. Please bring wheelbarrows, shovels, and pitchforks if you have them, and a readiness to get your hands dirty! Refreshments will be provided to keep everyone fuelled and happy.

🔹 Friday 28 November, 3:30–5:30pm

Our second working bee will focus on clearing and organising storage spaces, including areas under buildings and in sheds. We’ll also be breaking down old furniture to go into a skip (or two). It’s a big task but as we all know many hands make light work!

We hope to see lots of families come along to lend a hand and enjoy the community spirit that makes these afternoons so rewarding.
