PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Our Middle and Senior students have been enjoying a Touch Rugby clinic in their PE sessions delivered by a coach from Melbourne University Touch Rugby Club. They have learnt about the skill of passing and scoring a try as well as the significant rule of touching their opponent to cause a turn over.
The Junior students have begun learning about effectively kicking a soccer ball. We have been using the inside of our foot to ensure accurate contact of the ball and will be progressing to trapping, passing and dribbling with the ball.
LOTE - AUSLAN
Our Middle and Senior students have begun creating their own LOTE board games. Students will choose an LOTE topic that we have focused on throughout the year such as feelings, food, shopping or school . Board games will involve rules that ensure players communicate using the actions related to their chosen topic. I'm super excited to see how we progress with these creations!
Our Junior students are starting to develop their knowledge of how to sign who is in their family. They are working towards communicating full sentences describing the members of thier family and the things they like to do together.
STEAM: Science, Technology & The Arts
Thankyou to the families who came to share their child's learning on Student Led Conference Day. It was delightful to see the impact of STEAM on their learning and hear what triggers student interest in the various topics covered.
We have continued our Art journey with Preps continuing with their Magic Hats, and the 1-2’s with their Rainbow Serpents. The 3-4’s and 5-6’s are continuing with the Picasso Faces and we are beginning to display the completed works. They are looking AMAZING! These will be on display at the the end of term for the community to enjoy!
Once these are completed we will move into our final Science units for the year.
