Term 4- Week 1
I wanted to take the quick opportunity to welcome all families and students to Term 4 and to as much as possible, continue to keep everyone in the loop as we head into such a busy school term.
The sun is shining and the weather is warming and this already feels so much nicer heading out each day hopefully with far less germs than we encountered last term!
Some of the information in my short newsletter update will be a repeat of what featured in our last newsletter but it doesn't hurt to stay informed as we all juggle the many different plates with our families our work and life in general.
I firstly wanted to acknowledge and thank the team behind the hard work that was undertaken on the last Sunday of the school holidays at our School Working Bee. The PnF Working Bee team that was so aptly led and coordinated by Caitlin Ovens and Ailie Arnall consisted of the following families-
Ovens Family (Ivy and Millie)
Arnall Family (Ariya)
O'Rourke Family (Iarla and Siofra)
Jenkins Family (Siofra and Saskia)
Speirs Family (Astrid)
Jenkins Family (Saskia)
Frizon Family (Xavier)
Vince Family (Jonty)
Cottee Family (Ada)
Ross Family (George)
Pearce Family (Angus)
Menzies Family (Georgia and Goldie)
The amount of work that was accomplished around our school was amazing and I wanted to publicly acknowledge and thank them for giving up their time to beautify our school. Please enjoy some before and after photos of our upgraded garden beds including information about our new Bush Tucker Garden.
A small reminder that next term is a Sun Smart Term and therefore students will be expected to have their wide-brimmed hat for use at recess and lunch and during all outdoor activities. Please also make sure you child's hat is clearly labelled with their name to prevent sharing of hats as well as any bugs that might live in hair that we seem to have had many issues with this last term.
Information has been sent out to families of students in Years 3-6 in 2026 regarding a parent information session next week outlining the change from iPads to Chromebooks in 2026 which will include information on how to purchase a Chromebook using our new personalised portal.
The information session is really mostly relevant to students in Year 3 in 2026 as we make a slow transition to the new device, however all families are welcome to attend if they wish to. Families of students in Years 4-6 in 2026 are most welcome to purchase the new device if they wish to.
Information session:
When: Thursday 16th October
Time: 5-6pm (roughly)
Where: 3/4 B classroom (middle classroom space in the 3/4 building)
RSVP-
Any families wishing to attend the information session need to complete the following RSVP form for confirmation of numbers- https://forms.gle/AkBLaXwKLoWJnGCv6
As Edunet is our preferred supplier of devices in 2026 and has developed a portal specifically for our Moriac PS families, representatives from the company will be present to answer any questions.
In addition, Brody Frost our school's IT technician will also be present to support families as well.
We will have devices for families to look at and use for this session and a booklet that go through each part of the process as well.
Please take a screen shot of the key dates page in this newsletter if you already haven't to ensure you keep up to date with all the excursions and events that we have planner for Term 4.
With so much going on, it is often hard for the office staff to make calls and check up on whether students are attending events or not and so we really appreciate your support where possible, to indicate and respond to any school events on compass at your earliest convenience.
We look forward to a fun-filled and productive term ahead!
