5-8 Community News

Our very own Mr Barrett is getting married this Friday. We wish him and Stella all the best and hope they have an amazing day. We look forward to some photos of their memorable day.

Student Leadership 2026

We are now close to finalising our Student Leaders for 2026. It has been an extensive process but a great opportunity for our current Year 7s. Those involved have conducted themselves extremely well and hopefully the process has taught them many skills. More news to come.

TA Topic

We have examined mental health over the last week. We have studied the importance of looking after ourselves and gained a greater understanding of the ramifications of not looking after yourself. We have also looked at activities to promote positive mental health and things that could affect it.

Homework

A reminder that all of our Years 5 to 8 students have homework due every Friday or Monday, depending on their year level. The purpose of the homework is to master key concepts learnt in the classroom, introduce good habits around undertaking homework and ensuring our parents and caregivers have an understanding of what topics are being taught at school. The uptake of completing the homework is usually high, around 90%, but we are hoping by year's end that 100% of our cohort are completing all of their homework.

Reminders

  • Please ensure devices are charged every night at home so they can be utilised at school all day. We still have students with uncharged laptops/iPads.

  • Please ensure your child/ren have a school hat and remind them that hats need to be worn every lunch and recess. We are still following up students who are not wearing a hat.
