Support our St Vincent De Paul Conference
Earlier this year, access to low cost non-perishable food for our pantry from Food Bank Victoria was lost due to insatiable demand. Demand from families in need within our community is also high and supporting them with pantry food made a difference. Our pantry is empty. To highlight the need and provide an opportunity for parishioners to contribute non-perishable food items for our pantry, a basket is located at the rear of the Church.
National Carer's Week
National Carer's Week runs from October 12 to 18 in 2025. It's a time to recognise, celebrate and raise awareness of the people who provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have a disability, mental health issues, drug issues or a chronic condition. About 39% of Victorian carers report living with a disability themselves. Over three quarters of a million Victorians are unpaid carers. They are the social glue that binds family members and service providers. Carers' Victoria can give practical advice and support to any carer when required. Just call 1800 514 845 on weekdays.

Jubilee Pilgrimage
As part of the Jubilee Year Pilgrims of Hope, a pilgrimage is being organised to Numurkah to visit St Mary of the Cross Indigenous Garden and Historical Trail. Australia's first Saint and co-founder of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Mary MacKillop of the Cross, founded the first Josephite School in Victoria at Numurkah in 1890. In December 2024, Numurkah parishioners celebrated the opening of an indigenous garden and history trail dedicated to the memory of Mary MacKillop and the Josephite Sisters who have served their community so well.
The Pilgrimage will leave St Augustine’s Church 9.30am on Saturday 25th October to arrive at Numurkah by 10.30am.
There will be morning tea on arrival and visit to Historical Garden. Mass will be celebrated by Fr Uday at 12noon.
Lunch will follow at Shamrock hotel. If you have a spare seat in your car, please reach out to those in need of a lift. RSVP to Parish Office 5852 1026, Mary Zobec 0427 190 282 or Annette Ryan 0408 502 858 by 21st October.
