I remember when I first came to Trinity 17 years ago there was a marketing board outside the front of the school which had the slogan... "The best children in the world learn here". At first I thought that was an unusual thing to say as there are so many beautiful children all over the world. But with time, I came to realise that Trinity is a very special place. A place where magic happens... not only learning magic, but the kind of magic that warms your heart... where children and staff look out for and look after each other, where everyone feels welcomed, valued and included, where friendships are made and where students have many opportunities to thrive, where students can grow close to God and where they can see God in others. After 17 years, I now reflect back on that slogan and those words on that board could not be more true. The best children in the world are at Trinity which makes this a very hard goodbye for me.
It's very hard to believe that I am writing my final newsletter and saying goodbye to the beautiful community of children, families and staff at Trinity. And even though I won't see each and every one of you at the gate and in classrooms every day, you will always be close in my heart. Thank you for the joy you have all given me in being able to do what I love most and that is help the children at Trinity have the best possible opportunities to learn and to flourish as young people who are kind and care about others. Thank you to the parents for all your lovely words of congratulations- I will miss you all. And to the staff and the leadership team at Trinity, I am so proud to say that you are my extended family- a place where I have loved being for the last 17 years.
To every member of our Trinity community, I want you to know that Trinity is an amazing place because you are in it.
It is with very mixed emotions that I leave, but I look forward to joining you for some of the whole school events next year. Thank you to all of you for your warmth, friendships and love that I have deeply felt during my time at Trinity... I will think of you all every day and miss you, especially the children.
And if I can leave you with one final message… as Fr Trung SJ and Mr Rodrigues said this morning… look after each other, be kind to each other and love one another in the same way that God loves you.
I wish you all a peaceful and holy Christmas and a restful and enjoyable break.

Last week our Preps, Year 1 and Year 2 students presented some of their learning from this semester at the Student Led Conversations. This was a wonderful opportunity for the children to share their learning with their families. The children should be very proud of all they have achieved this semester.
Last week the children who contributed to the Shared Stories Anthology for 2024 received their very own copy at our school assembly last Friday. This beautiful book full of writing pieces and art work around the theme 'Courage' is a treasured keepsake for these children. They should be very proud of the writing they produced and knowing that they are now published authors of a book that is housed in the State Library. Many students from Prep to Year 12 in the Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic schools contributed to this years anthology.
Also last week our school Choir 'Trinity Voices' practised for their perfomance at Victoria Gardens Shopping Centre. This was a very exciting opportunity for them. Thanks to Bernadette, Sangeetha and Mr Ru who have both been preparing the children for this performance. The children represented our school community so beautifully.
Last week the whole school participated in a Cross Country and Sports Event.
It was a great day of fun and great sportmanship.
Thanks to Mr Ru and Ms McLeary for organising such a great sporting challenge and event for our stduents. And a huge thanks to Year 6 student Cam for all of his planning to make the Cross Country track such a success!
On this particular day Manresa took out both awards for the competitive sprint races and for the Team Spirit Award. I think it might be the first time a House Team has taken out both the trophy and the plaque. Well done Manresa!
It's such a lovely time of the year to enjoy some Christmas art and craft as part of our end of year learning...
Here is the Kids Bulletin for last week and this week:
I look forward to seeing you all at St James Church in the New Year when Children's Liturgy will recommence when school begins again in 2025.
