Science
We’ve had a great start to Science so far.
Despite the warm weather students have started this year’s journey in a very positive and enthusiastic manner.
Prep
The Prep’s are ready to go! In their science lessons this term they will be exploring the 5 senses: sight, smell, touch, hearing, and taste. To kick off their learning, they have been investigating the sense of sight, using binoculars to see the world around them in a whole new way. We look forward to more exciting discoveries as they continue exploring the senses!
Year 1 & 2
Our Year 1 and 2 students are diving into the exciting world of light and sound! We have started by investigating what light is and exploring the differences between natural and artificial light. As the term progresses, we will explore sound, how it travels, and how we hear it. We look forward to seeing their curiosity and enthusiasm grow!
Year 3 & 4
The Years 3 & 4 will be investigating the properties of common materials. So, this term they will learn about elasticity, insulation, water proofing and the effect heat has on materials such as rubber and metal. A lot of fun yet to be had.
Year 5 & 6
The Years 5 & 6 will be exploring electricity this term. It’s been a hair-raising start!
They will explore different types of simple circuits; predict and observe changes made to them and finish the term investigating batteries and electromagnetism.
