Sustainability

This year at St. Bernard’s Primary School, we’ve made tremendous strides in sustainability, thanks to the dedication of our students, staff, and community.

Our school garden has flourished with vibrant produce, nurtured by our young eco-warriors who also learned about composting and reducing food waste.

We received an enormous grant which has assisted us in creating some nesting boxes to improve the biodiversity of the school site.

These will be painted and put together over the next few days at school and then placed into the trees during the holidays by Mick Everitt who we thank very much!

This year our "Walk or Ride to School" initiative has encouraged active transport and reduced vehicle emissions.

Clean up Australia day and regular recycling reminders during our unit level assemblies and nude food lunch days, saw outstanding participation, with students embracing the challenge of reducing single-use plastics.

Together, we’ve shown that small actions can lead to big impacts, and we’re excited to carry this momentum into the year ahead.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making sustainability a core part of life at St. Bernard’s!

Our chooks are off to a lovely farm in Moyhu over the holiday break.  Thanks to those families who have offered to help with chooks over each holiday break this year.

Your support is very much appreciated!
