VCE Results
It was a celebration of the Arts for staff and students at St Joseph's College this week, after the release of Year 12 results, with three of our top study scores achieved in the Arts learning area.
DUX of the College for 2024 is Emily Polidano with an impressive score of 89.2. Emily has always been a talented and creative student and performed exceptionally well across multiple Arts subjects.
Emily has already received an early entry into a Media and Communications Degree at Swinburne but after her successful results, is hoping to pursue a double degree and has dreams of working in the fashion and beauty industry.
12 other students from the College joined Emily with scores higher than 80 these included:

Most impressively, all students enrolled in VCE successfully completed their VCE certificate.
Our Principal Anne Marie Cairns celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2024, expressing pride and joy in the students’ success.
Ms Cairns commended the entire year level, including 108 students who successfully completed their VCE and 8 students who achieved their VCE-VM, highlighting their resilience and determination.
“This group of young people has shown remarkable perseverance and strength throughout their secondary school years, rising to meet every challenge with courage and unwavering commitment. Their success is truly well-deserved,” she said.
“These achievements are the result of years of dedication and collaboration between our students, staff, leadership team, and families. They embody the spirit of St Joseph’s College and are a source of immense pride for our entire community,” she said.
“I am incredibly proud of the way these students have responded to the many opportunities and challenges they have faced throughout their secondary school journey with strength, courage and commitment.”
In total, 4 students received a study score greater than 40 in individual subjects including:
Emily Polidano – 47 – Visual Communication Design and 43 - Media
Angela Warren – 45 – Art Making and Exhibiting
Charlie Byrne – 41 – General Mathematics
Scarlett Southern – 41 – Sport and Recreation
“These students, along with their peers, have approached their studies with remarkable dedication and focus throughout 2024,” Ms Cairns said.
“It’s wonderful to see their hard work rewarded with such strong results and to know they can look back on the year with pride in their achievements.”
Ms Cairns also noted that many students had already embraced pathways beyond university, with some starting apprenticeships and others beginning their careers in the workforce.
“Year 12 is a significant milestone for students and their families, often accompanied by added pressure and expectations. It truly takes a village to support our students through this journey,” Ms Cairns said.
“As we celebrate the accomplishments of our 2024 Year 12 cohort, I want to thank everyone involved — students, teachers, parents, and carers — for their unwavering commitment and teamwork throughout this important year.”
