Kildare Campus News

On Monday 9 December, we celebrated the last day of 2024 with a House luncheon with our Year 7 and 8 students. This special event brought our Houses together to reflect on the year, enjoy a Liturgy, participate in Advent activities, and have fun with tabloid sports. The day was filled with joy and the vibrant spirit of St Joseph’s College.

The excitement continued the next day as we warmly welcomed our incoming Year 7 students for 2025 Orientation Day. These students, traveling from near and far, arrived with a mix of nerves, excitement, and happiness as they embraced the opportunity to meet new peers and staff. They experienced their first glimpse of secondary school life, moving between classrooms and engaging with different teachers and activities.

Both days highlighted the importance of connection, community, and celebration as we supported our new students in beginning their journey with us. We are excited to see them grow as part of our family here at Kildare Campus.

In 2025, Kildare Campus will proudly host all three year levels, Year 7, 8, and 9 which is an exciting milestone for our community. It has been incredibly rewarding to witness our students grow and flourish throughout their time with us. The thought of farewelling our pioneering students as they transition to Brigidine Campus this time next year is both exciting and bittersweet!

Class Formation 2025

In any educational environment, the way classes are allocated can have a significant impact on student engagement, learning outcomes, and personal development. At St Joseph's College we consider a range of factors when making decisions about class placement.

This includes not only academic ability but also learning styles, gender, opportunities for future success, and the potential for building new relationships.

Our goal in balancing these elements is to create an environment where every student has the best opportunity to thrive. By approaching class allocations with a holistic mindset, we are setting the stage for a generation of learners who are not only knowledgeable but also resilient, adaptable, and equipped to lead in a complex, interconnected world.

We thank you for trusting in our College process.

Finally, on behalf of myself and Shari Gotch, Director Brigidine Campus, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our families a safe and happy Christmas. Please take care over the break and be kind to one another.
