Alpaca Workshop

On Monday 25 March, Year 9 Agriculture students had the opportunity to work with Jackpot Alpacas, as part of their Alpaca unit and preparation for Sydney Royal Alpaca Show.

Helen, Wade and Hannah, along with six of their Alpacas, assisted students in their Stockmanship handling. Stockmanship requires handlers to lead their Alpaca through a variety of obstacles and complete set challenges.

This session was very rewarding for our students, as some of the Alpacas had not been exposed to obstacles previously, such as a change of surface (tarp) or the bridge.

We would like to thank Jackpot Alpacas for supporting our students in their preparation and competition at Sydney Royal and wish them the best of luck!
