International Women's Day Curie Steam Party

As you may know it was International Women’s Day last week. On this day we imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #InspireInclusion.

On this day we celebrate women's achievement. Raise awareness about discrimination. Take action to drive gender parity.

IWD belongs to everyone, everywhere. Inclusion means all IWD action is valid.

In celebration of this day all female students from Year 5 and selected Year 4 students attended the inaugural Marie Curie STEAM Party at Bentleigh Secondary College.

The girls enjoyed viewing a drama performance based on this year’s International Women’s Day theme, ‘inspiration and inclusivity,’ and participating in an interactive theatre sports activity.

Next, they were taken to the Science labs to join in 4 different STEAM based activities run by Bentleigh Secondary College students, these included coding, electrical circuits, the heart and locating points on a grid.

Comments from students included:
