Wellbeing

Social & Emotional Learning

This term we have been focusing on respect as part of building positive relationships with others. Next term we are learning skills to build resilience, solve problems and seek help. To reinforce these learning concepts we have planned wellbeing incursions for Term 2.

Project Rockit will be running two workshops.

Year 3&4 students will be attending the 'Belong' session: Championing inclusive communities, strength in diversity, cultivating empathy and strategies for allyship.

Year 5&6 will participate in the 'Unite' workshop: Developing an understanding of bullying and its impacts, cultivating empathy and strategies to challenge bullying.

Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle will perform their Resilience show to our Prep and Year 1/2 students. This show focuses on bouncing back, and keeping on going when things get tough. Topics discussed include Being the Boss of My Feelings (emotional regulation strategies), developing confidence and problem solving, all on a colourful backdrop of  jokes, songs, interactive games and stories.

Student-Led Clubs

This year we started two new clubs which have been initiated and led by students.

Photography Club

Valentina and Victoria run the Photography club, which includes a competition at the end of the term. This term the theme was "Nature."  Congratulations Remy who received first place, Anastasia who came 2nd, and Olive who won the student choice award.

Writer's Club

Eva leads the writer's club every Tuesday in the Peace Garden. The students use this time to write and share their ideas with others. Miss Melissa joined this week and shared her idea for a Junior Novel. Willow, Lexi, Eva and Seha gave her some amazing feedback and helped brainstorm some ideas to improve the plot.
