Grade 3 Report

It has been a busy couple of weeks in Grade 3 as the children have completed their NAPLAN testing for the first time. This is an amazing accomplishment for them.

Students have begun exploring a new humanities unit - Earth and Space Science.

Children have been engaged in this new topic and have learnt many interesting facts. We have discussed the role of the Sun, Moon and Earth as well as creating our own sundials to unpack how the sun helps us tell the time.

After learning about the phases of the moon and the moons purpose, students undertook an experiment which involved Oreo cookies. The purpose of this experiment was for students to recreate the phases of the moon in the icing of the cookie. Everyone was really excited during this hands-on learning experience and this was definitely a highlight of the humanities unit!

We are very lucky to have a great group of scientists in Grade 3!
