A highlight from my trip to Canberra was the drive up the top of Mount Ainslie because the view was incredible as the sun was going down over the city of Canberra. A second highlight from the trip was the bike ride around Lake Burley Griffin because I loved gazing out at the geyser monument and the archways through trees as we cycled around.

My main highlight at Canberra was getting to go to the AIS because there were many different sports that you could play. We also could see what it would feel like to be an olympian. I also liked the gift shop as there were many different things to look at as well as buying things!

For me the highlight at Canberra was the National Arboretum because even though not many people appreciate it, the arboretum had many rare and beautiful trees. The bonsai collection was amazing with many perfect bonsai and the gift shop was good because it had a wide range of things to buy from glassware to books.

My highlight was going on the bike ride as we got to see and know Canberra and its monuments much better as well as having a great and fun time exercising! We also got to see a bunch of monuments like the National Museum of Australia, The Australian of the Year awards and the Captain Cook Memorial Jet.

My favourite thing about Canberra was the bike riding, mainly because of how relaxing it was and how outstanding the view was. I was able to stop worrying about the bike ride and I got to enjoy getting to know everyone there. Another highlight I had was seeing Mount Ainslie, seeing the lights shimmer in the night sky was stunning and amazing to see.
I liked seeing all of the wonderful places that we saw like the old parliament house and the new parliament. Getting to see what the politicians do everyday was once in a lifetime experience and I would definitely go again.
Something else that I enjoyed seeing was the war memorial, although we lost many people in the war. It was very educational and seeing those creations made for the soldiers were highly impressive.
Seeing the art gallery was also amazing because looking at all those artists' work and the story behind their work. Not only were the sights amazing but I got an amazing cabin and I got to enjoy every day with them. Natalie V
My highlight of Canberra was going to the AIS and playing games to get better at different sports, seeing how high I can jump and having lots of fun. I loved the mountain view and I got to talk to friends a lot more about stuff and the view of parliament with the lights and the city.
The art museum was really good because you got to see how different artists have their style in art and how their way of art and the meanings of art.
I liked learning about the soldiers who fought in the war because my grandpa fought for Ukraine in world war 2 to help the country. I liked how you could see people who lose their lives trying to help the county. We got to see how the red and green rooms look and how they work. We went to the high court and we got to watch a real court happening and how it works. We went to see the memorials of people in the war and about the people in wars and what they did to try to save the country and why it's so special about why they're helping us to stay safe. The CSIRO was good because we got to see bugs about what they look like really close. Marcus R
My highlight was going to the AIS because it was lots of fun trying all different sports and competing against my friends and classmates. There was kayaking, skiing, footy, rugby, cycling, basketball ,soccer, rock climbing and snow sledding. It was fun to get involved with all the games and we met a famous basketball player and volleyball player. Harriet P
My highlight at Canberra was going to the AIS because seeing all the really cool sports that I love to do and seeing all the history from the olympics was really fascinating and intriguing. Also playing all the interactive simulation games was so fun and very cool on how it all worked. The simulation games I played were the AFL, Soccer, Baseball, Arm wrestling, rowing, cycling and the reaction game.
I also saw an actual medal from the 2000 Sydney Olympics which was just amazing! I then saw Cathy Freeman’s uniform that she wore at the Olympics! Also the shop was really cool because I got to buy a drink bottle, kangaroo plush, key chain and a gold necklace with the letter H on it. Overall visiting the AIS was just so cool and seeing all the different medals to the simulation games just made it so fun. Hudson H
